Repurposed lamp using a retro baby blue belling heater

  • A sweet baby blue vintage heater made by Belling in the 1950’s, repurposed into a lovely retro floor lamp.
  • The heating rods have been removed and replaced by two test tube filament bulbs.
  • These give the impression of heat and warmth to a room, and are a good source of light.
  • The bulbs can be dimmed from ambient low level to a functional light source.
  • The shiny silver chrome curvaceous background creates lovely reflections of the filament light.
  • I have restored the body, and repainted the back and feet a light grey. The original blue frontage has signs of wear and tear characteristic of it’s age. But nothing that affects the overall aesthetic.
  • The two lovely LED Edison screw light bulbs are included in the price.
  • I have used a chequered blue and white vintage style braided cable, with the black dimmer/ off switch midway along.
  • All electrical items used are new and approved by CE safety.
The lamp has been PAT tested.
  • Perfect for a small alcove or redundant fireplace. It really gives a wonderful impression of warmth to a room, as well as being very sweet and wonderfully retro.
  • Dimensions: 47 x 52 x 20 cms.
