Repurposed lamp using a retro baby blue belling heater
A sweet baby blue vintage heater made by Belling in the 1950’s, repurposed into a lovely retro floor lamp.
The heating rods have been removed and replaced by two test tube filament bulbs.
These give the impression of heat and warmth to a room, and are a good source of light.
The bulbs can be dimmed from ambient low level to a functional light source.
The shiny silver chrome curvaceous background creates lovely reflections of the filament light.
I have restored the body, and repainted the back and feet a light grey. The original blue frontage has signs of wear and tear characteristic of it’s age. But nothing that affects the overall aesthetic.
The two lovely LED Edison screw light bulbs are included in the price.
I have used a chequered blue and white vintage style braided cable, with the black dimmer/ off switch midway along.
All electrical items used are new and approved by CE safety.
The lamp has been PAT tested.
Perfect for a small alcove or redundant fireplace. It really gives a wonderful impression of warmth to a room, as well as being very sweet and wonderfully retro.
