‘Armadillo Lamp’ A 1930’s HMV electric fire converted into a unique, stylish floor lamp

  • A gorgeous 1930’s Art Deco electric heater restored and converted into a unique floor lamp.
  • The heater was produced by HMV and is quite a rare piece.
  • It has lovely parabolic aluminium fins that light up beautifully whilst on.
  • The curvy silver chrome backdrop and the kidney shaped khaki grey metal base add to the style of the design.
  • I removed the heater element and replaced it with a silver edison screw lamp holder.
  • The 20cm long test tube LED filament bulb slots in neatly within the curved fins and illuminates the metal very effectively.
  • The light bulb is included in the price.
  • Please note there are few marks of age on the metal surfaces, but nothing very noticeable.
  • I have used a vintage style red and black herringbone braided flex that complements the grey base, and there is a black foot switch mid way along the flex to turn the lamp on and off with ease.
  • All electrical items used are new and approved by CE safety standards.
  • The lamp has been PAT tested.
  • Perfect for a redundant fire place. It would brighten up any room, adding character and vintage style.
  • I call it The Armadillo Lamp.
  • Dimensions: 37 x 29 x 27 cms
