Repurposed HMV radio lamp with a vintage marbled shade

  • A lovely vintage ‘His Masters Voice’ radio repurposed into an adjustable table lamp.
  • I have fully restored the body of the radio, sanding back all the scratches to reveal a lovely smooth warm wood.
The sweet HMV symbol has been kept on the top, the edges revealing the layers of time that have been removed.
  • I wanted to make a lamp that was in keeping with the character of the vintage age. The brass gooseneck stem leading onto the gorgeous vintage marble effect shade almost reminiscent of a gramophone.
  • The glass shade creates a lovely warm light and shines down and spotlights the HMV symbol and the smooth warm wood.
  • The stem is adjustable so you can position the shade at any angle/ height you like.
  • Please note there are a few loose threads on the fabric speaker, traces of age which I don’t think are detrimental (see photos).
  • The lamp has a brass Edison screw lamp holder, with a E27 light bulb included in the price.
  • I have used an antique style gold flex, with a black inline switch to turn the lamp on and off with ease.
  • All electrical items used are new and approved by CE safety standards.
  • The lamp has been PAT tested.
  • A lovely nostalgic piece with loads of character. Perfect for a music lover.
  • Dimensions: 46 x 72 x 18 cms.
