Mid century teak floor lamp with a vintage holophane street lamp shade
A lovely mid century modern prismatic floor lamp.
A unique pairing of an industrial street lamp from Cloughtrie of Glasgow and a teak mid century modern standard lamp.
The 1950’s shade has been completely restored and sanded back to a polished aluminium finish. This has produced some lovely mottled traces of age on the casing.
The prismatic Perspex lens shade produces gorgeous refracted light and enhances the beautiful domed shape.
Please note there are traces of age on the inside of the casing, characteristic of age, but it can’t be seen when the shade is on.
I have added a small brown snooker ball to the top of the dome to act as a handle to take the shade off, and as a colour complement to the teak stand.
The shaped teak is in excellent condition. I have sanded it back and nourished with teak oil.
The shade gallery sits neatly on the top, and the the vertical lines within match nicely with the vertical grooves in the teak.
I have used an antique style gold flex with a black foot switch midway along to turn the lamp on and off.
All electrical items used are new and approved by CE safety standards.
The lamp has been PAT tested.
A truly unique lamp, made from quality vintage items. It has lots of character, and produces a wonderful warm light.
